It seems like a long time since I wrote an AHA blog post. We’re back in the office preparing for the new year. It’s been an exciting year for us here at AHA and we’re looking forward to 2011.
One of the topics of conversation that we’ve been having at our Vancouver PR agency revolves around exceptional customer, client or stakeholder service. For us, exceptional service is a priority. How we work with our clients, our AHA Crew, our suppliers and others is important and our focus on this area is reflected in the success of our work with clients …

I am thrilled to announce that Laurie Hanley has joined the AHA Creative Strategies team.
It’s always exciting when we add a new crew member to AHA. As a virtual agency, we have some of the best and brightest on board with our Vancouver PR agency. They are contractors that we have had long–term relationships with, relationships that allow us to provide world-class excellence for our clients.
I have known Laurie for more than a decade. When I first met her, I was Director of Communications and Laurie was an acting student at Vancouver Film School. Laurie really stood out …

There is a great article on Inc.com that focuses on writing a social media release. It has some great points in it and it’s worth a read.
We don’t recommend social media releases for all clients or every project, but there are times when it provides added value. It’s important to think about a social media release strategically. Don’t let your excitement in doing something that has some “cool” elements push you to develop one when you don’t need to. Each month, one of the AHA Crew receives $20 and is asked to initiate a “Random Act of Kindness.” For December, we asked our Calgary PR Coordinator, Kim Wong, to do something nice for someone in the world. Kim took the assignment to heart – she tells us about what she did below.
On Friday, I was told that it was my turn to do a Random Act of Kindness on behalf of AHA. My first thought was how do I take the $20 given to me and turn it into more than $20? I remembered that the previous day …

It’s that time again – the “Best of…” lists are starting to come out. Amy Vernon reviews the best social media marketing campaigns of the year at Imediaconnection.com.
Wondering why I am showing you marketing campaigns and not PR campaigns? The fact is, marketing and PR are both parts of a campaign these days. Social media has changed the days where the ad team would do one thing, the marketing group another and PR would just try to use what they did to generate some editorial and word of mouth.
At our Vancouver PR agency, we look at potential …

While AHA is a Canadian communications agency, we have clients, friends and family in the U.S. On this day of American Thanksgiving – inspired by a Crenshaw Communications blog post “Things We’re Thankful For As PR Professionals” – we have created our own list of thankfuls. You should read Crenshaw’s post, it’s very good and we are thankful for many of the items on their list too.
Like the team at Crenshaw, we decided to write about some of the little things we’re grateful for, the big things like our health, family and friends are written in our hearts.
