Let’s hear from Maryse Cardin, Communications Strategist/Writer, on the get to know you questions.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I’m motivated, grateful and excited about my life and the opportunities that are forever presenting themselves to me. I’m a lifetime student, always learning, always growing. I love to work with people and help them succeed.

What do you see as your communications strengths?
My ability to get to the heart of the story, to determine angles, and to figure out how to best communicate them. I’m calm under pressure and a terrific trainer.

What made you interested in joining AHA?
It’s the team! The AHA team does A-1 work, while making it fun and interesting to work with them all along. We’ve been long time collaborators—a decade already.

What five words describe you professionally? Personally?
Competent, calm, talented, experienced, and hard working.
Humourous, affectionate, friendly, fun, and positive.

What kind of beverage do you drink first thing in the a.m.?
Hot water with fresh mint.

Who do you think you were in a past life?
A happy Israeli woman with an olive grove.

What makes you laugh out loud?
My husband Bobo. He really cracks me up. Stand-up comedy.

When you were little what did you want to be when you grew up?
A missionary. But I didn’t know it had anything to do with religion. I just thought it meant being an aid worker in Africa.

What five people living or dead would you invite to a dinner party?
Einstein (top of list), Josephine Baker, Buddha, Queen Elizabeth I, and Oscar Cardin – my grandfather.

What’s in your refrigerator right now?
Goat milk, curry paste, hummus, lots of fresh berries, and champagne.

What five CDs would you take with you to a desert island?
Charles Aznavour, Gregory Charles, Cesaria Evora, Buddhist chants, and our wedding CD compilation.

What question do you wish someone would ask you?
What do you want to become when you grow up?

What’s your answer?
We’ll have to see. I’m not finished growing yet.
